An Icon of the Seas!

Iconic is being the largest cruise ship in the world! Iconic is having the largest water park at sea, featuring the first open freefall waterslide and the tallest waterslide to sail! Iconic is having seven pools, including the largest pool at sea! Iconic is being the newest fleet addition to one of the world's most recognizable cruising brands, the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line! If you haven't guessed, we are describing the brand-new Icon of the Seas, a cruise ship created to give families the ultimate vacation!

The 250,800-ton ship made its inaugural sailing in January and can accommodate nearly 8,000 guests. The design team behind Icon of the Seas made water a centerpiece of this vessel. The Aquadome, a quiet lounging area and just one of the 8 "neighborhoods" featured onboard, has floor to ceiling windows giving passengers iconic ocean views. Additionally, Icon of the Seas has an impressive 40 restaurants, bars, and entertainment spaces onboard. This design element ensures guests are constantly encouraged to move around, which leads to a less crowded cruising experience. Royal Caribbean's app makes planning a day onboard Icon of the Seas a breeze! Spa treatments and a ride on the popular Crown's Edge, which tosses you above the sea and leaves you dangling, can all be booked in the state-of-the-art app.

During the evening, guests on the ship can enjoy a wide range of world-class entertainment options. Favorites among past passengers include the adults-only Comedy Live Club and Aqua Action, showcasing aquatic entertainers performing under a 55-foot waterfall. For parents who want to have a few child-free hours, the Adventure Ocean child-care facility is included in the fare and caters to children from six months to 12 years of age. Additionally, the ship has stunning three-story townhouses designed for families. These townhouses feature a backyard and an indoor slide and are perfect for families with children. Other family accommodations include the Surfside Family Suites, which feature two twin beds that convert to a Royal King, a separate living space with a sofa bed, and a split bathroom. Some cabin options also come with connecting rooms and large terraces. Roughly 80% of the Icon of the Seas cabins are built to accommodate more than two guests, making families the primary focus of this vessel.

Icon of the Seas has 18 passenger decks and is 1,198 feet long. Worried about getting lost and having enough time to see everything onboard the world's largest cruise ship? Worry not! Previous passengers have credited the neighborhood concept as an easy way to navigate the enormous vessel. Having themed attractions concentrated on specific areas of the ship makes figuring out where you are and where you are going a relatively easy task. Its current Caribbean itineraries are six to eight nights long, giving passengers plenty of time to explore and enjoy all this ship offers!
