Norwegian Cruise Line is raising the bar with its newest and largest ship ever, the Norwegian Aura. Set to debut in May 2027, this record-breaking mega-ship is already generating enormous buzz across the cruising world. Reservations are now open, and with everything Norwegian Cruise Line has packed into this vessel, early booking is highly recommended.

At nearly 1,130 feet long and 169,000 gross tons, the Aura is Norwegian Cruise Line’s longest and largest vessel to date, roughly 10% bigger than its predecessors, the Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna. The ship accommodates up to 3,840 guests at double occupancy. Built for families, couples, and solo travelers alike, the Aura is designed to give every guest the freedom to experience the sea on their own terms.
The crown jewel of the Norwegian Aura is Ocean Heights, a brand-new open-air activities complex spanning Decks 18 to 21. This triple-deck entertainment hub buzzes with energy by day and transforms into a vibrant, laid-back lounge-style space in the evening, thanks to immersive lighting and LED projections. It is, quite simply, a must-see attraction that features an 82-foot ropes course, a 25-foot rock-climbing wall, carnival-style games, mini golf, cabanas, and so much more.
Additionally, the Norwegian Aura will feature more waterslides than any other ship in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet, with five thrilling options in Ocean Heights alone. Eclipse Racers are Norwegian Cruise Line’s first-ever dueling mat racer waterslides, stretching over 400 feet. The Aura Free Fall sends riders through a trapdoor floor and down 250 feet of twists and turns. The Wave is a lotus-style pendulum raft slide for groups of up to four, and the Kids’ Aqua Park adds a dedicated waterslide experience for little ones. The Drop, a returning fan favorite, is the Prima-class signature dry slide that rushes riders down 10 full decks!
Regardless of whether you are looking for thrills or relaxation, the Norwegian Aura is all about giving guests the space to explore and vacation their way! The ship’s pool deck is over 20% larger than those found on the Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna, featuring more seating, an additional infinity hot tub, a bigger LED entertainment screen, and expanded open lounge areas. The adults-only Vibe Beach Club has also been upgraded, coming in 15% larger with more infinity hot tubs, increased seating, a waterfall feature, and premium decompression zones. Connecting it all is Ocean Boulevard, Norwegian Cruise Line’s iconic outdoor promenade. Aboard the Aura, it has been extended by 11% compared to prior ships and includes hot tubs, a kids’ activity zone, and a dedicated teen hangout, giving every age group a space to call their own.
After a day of non-stop fun, guests aboard the Norwegian Aura can retreat to one of 1,976 staterooms ranging from cozy studios to expansive suites, with something to suit every budget and travel style. For those seeking the ultimate luxury experience, The Haven, Norwegian Cruise Line's exclusive ship-within-a-ship concept, will feature 159 suites aboard the Aura, a 30% increase over previous Prima-class ships and the most Haven suites in the entire Norwegian Cruise Line fleet.
The Norwegian Aura’s inaugural voyage is a seven-day Mediterranean cruise departing Trieste, Italy, on May 21, 2027, sailing to Barcelona, Spain, with stops in Valletta, Malta, and Salerno and Rome, Italy. Following a 14-day transatlantic crossing, the ship will homeport in Miami beginning in June 2027. From there, it will sail seven-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries through October 2027, visiting Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola, and Great Stirrup Cay, before shifting to Western Caribbean sailings in winter 2027/28, calling on Roatán, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Harvest Caye.
The Norwegian Aura isn’t just a new ship! It’s bigger, bolder, and built for dream vacation experiences! Reservations for the Norwegian Aura are officially open. Contact a Fairy Godmother Travell expert today and get ready to set sail aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s boldest vessel!
