Fall at Walt Disney World: A Magical Time to Visit

Fall is one of the most festive and exciting times to visit Walt Disney World Resort. Beginning in early August and continuing through the Halloween season, the parks come alive with autumn décor, seasonal treats, special entertainment, and one of Disney’s most popular after-hours events, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

From festive photo spots at Magic Kingdom to global flavors at EPCOT, a fall Disney vacation offers the perfect mix of Halloween fun, family-friendly entertainment, and classic Disney magic.

Fall Décor at Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom transforms beautifully for the season with colorful pumpkins, autumn garlands, scarecrows, and festive details throughout the park. Main Street, U.S.A., becomes one of the most popular fall photo spots at Walt Disney World, creating the perfect backdrop for family memories, Halloween pictures, and magical vacation moments.

Guests can typically expect Magic Kingdom’s fall décor to appear around the start of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party season, making early August a wonderful time to begin experiencing the magic of fall at Disney.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

The highlight of the fall season at Walt Disney World is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a separately ticketed event held at Magic Kingdom on select nights. For 2026, Disney lists party dates from August 7 through October 31.

This family-friendly Halloween party offers something for everyone. Guests can enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the park, limited-time Halloween treats, festive character experiences, special entertainment, exclusive merchandise, and plenty of spooky-but-not-too-scary fun.

One of the most beloved parts of the event is Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade. This returning favorite features Disney characters dressed in their Halloween best, along with festive floats, lively music, and plenty of seasonal surprises. Minnie Mouse, Clarabelle Cow, and Daisy Duck are scheduled to appear as the iconic Sanderson Sisters from Disney’s Hocus Pocus. Guests can also look forward to the Headless Horseman galloping through the night to kick off the parade, while a wicked assortment of Disney villains brings the celebration to a memorable close.

Another can’t-miss part of the party is Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, a Halloween-themed fireworks and laser show hosted by Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. During this frightfully fun nighttime spectacular, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy are spirited away to a mysterious haunted house, where they encounter dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts, and a sinister gathering of Disney villains. It is the perfect way to end a magical Halloween night at Magic Kingdom.

New fun joins the celebration this year with A Masquerade with Stitch in Tomorrowland. Guests can head to the Rockettower Plaza Stage and watch as Stitch gets his paws on Lilo’s costume trunk, changing themes each time he tries on something new.

EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival

Fall is also the perfect time to visit EPCOT! The International Food & Wine Festival is scheduled to run from August 27 through November 21 and features global flavors, including marketplace booths, seasonal dishes, specialty beverages, and culinary experiences inspired by flavors from around the world.

Guests can embark on a culinary adventure across 6 continents while also enjoying the popular Eat to the Beat Concert Series, making EPCOT a must-visit destination during a fall Walt Disney World vacation.
