Norwegian Cruise Line - A look at the Norwegian Viva and Luna!

Cruising enthusiasts have much to be excited about as Norwegian Cruise Line expands its Port of Galveston footprint and adds a new ship to their impressive fleet. The Norwegian Viva will start sailing from Galveston, Texas, in December 2025, while the Norwegian Luna is scheduled to make its maiden voyage from Miami, Florida, in early 2026.

Norwegian Viva

From December 2025 to April 2026, the Norwegian Viva will homeport at the newly expanded Port of Galveston in Texas. From there, passengers can set sail on seven-day Western Caribbean itineraries, including iconic destinations like Cozumel, Roatan, and Belize.

As one of the newest Norwegian Cruise Line ships, the Norwegian Viva boasts an impressive array of entertainment options, dining venues, and luxurious accommodations. The ship features more outdoor spaces than any previous Norwegian Cruise Line vessel, allowing guests plenty of space to soak in the sun and enjoy breathtaking ocean views. One of the ship's highlights is the Ocean Boulevard, an expansive 360-degree outdoor walkway that wraps around the ship. From the Ocean Boulevard, guests of the Norwegian Viva have access to stunning pools, numerous seating and dining areas, and the Courcourse, which features an outdoor sculpture garden.

Cruising enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the launch of the Norwegian Luna in early 2026. This will be the latest addition to Norwegian Cruise Line's Prima Class ships. The Norwegian Luna will depart from Miami and provide guests with access to a wide range of vibrant Caribbean destinations, including Norwegian Cruise Line's private island, Great Stirrup Cay, Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, and the British Virgin Islands.

As part of its innovative design, the Norwegian Luna will feature a hull adorned with artwork by Californian street artist Elle, titled "La Luna." This artwork explores the connection between people and celestial forces. One of the standout features of the Norwegian Luna's design is the world's first roller-coaster waterslide, called the Aqua Slidecoaster. Additionally, the ship will debut the world's first free-fall slide at sea. Guests will spiral from the top to the bottom of the vessel on this thrilling ride, descending from the 18th to the eighth deck.

The Norwegian Luna will also be home to Norwegian Cruise Line's new culinary concept, Sukhothai, which will serve authentic Thai cuisine. Prima Class favorites like the Indulge Food Hall and Norwegian Cruise Line's iconic Cagney's Steakhouse will also be featured onboard the new ship.
